A Nigerian-founded tech startup, Hokfam, has clinched Second Prize at the Lloyds Bank Tech Hackathon in Leeds, England, with its community-focused innovation, LeedsLink.

Led by entrepreneur Ikechukwu Emmanuel Arum, Hokfam competed against leading tech teams in Leeds and impressed judges with LeedsLink, a B2C application designed to connect local businesses and service providers with people within their immediate communities. The platform helps residents, students, and small businesses access trusted services quickly and affordably, while keeping value circulating within the local economy.

The recognition earned Hokfam second place in the competition and also paved the way for potential collaboration with Lloyds Bank on future technology projects. The team is additionally expected to travel to Edinburgh, Scotland, for further engagements and innovation showcases tied to the award.

“This recognition is a proud moment for our team. Winning second place against strong competition validates the vision behind LeedsLink and the commitment of Hokfam to solving real community problems,” said Ikechukwu Emmanuel Arum, Founder & CEO of Hokfam. “This is just the beginning, and we’re excited about what’s next with Lloyds and beyond.”

Built on the belief that technology can strengthen local communities while empowering small businesses and individuals, Hokfam continues to develop scalable software solutions aimed at delivering practical, real-world impact across the UK and beyond.

Hokfam is a technology company building scalable applications that empower communities, businesses, and individuals.
