Cascador is deepening its commitment to Nigerian entrepreneurs by offering $50,000 in support, including funding, mentorship, and an upgraded training curriculum. Designed for founders tackling societal challenges through for-profit ventures, the program focuses on leadership development, financial acumen, and strategic networking to help businesses scale.
“We don’t offer grants or work through NGOs—we empower entrepreneurs to create jobs and drive impact,” said Cascador’s founder, Dave DeLucia. “By strengthening their skills and connections, we also inspire a culture of philanthropy and community giving.”
For 2024, Cascador has introduced a more hands-on curriculum, including a three-week customer research initiative to help entrepreneurs apply real-world insights to their businesses. “Our new approach fosters deeper learning and stronger bonds among participants,” said Trish Thomas, Cascador’s Director.
Recognizing the tough business climate in Nigeria, Cascador has also awarded $5,000 personal development stipends to each 2024 cohort member, easing financial pressures amid inflation and limited access to capital. With these enhancements, the program continues to play a vital role in shaping Nigeria’s next generation of business leaders.
Cascador concluded its 2024 program with an exciting pitch day, awarding $50,000 to standout entrepreneurs driving impact in Nigeria. Chioma Ifeanyi-Eze of Accountinghub won the $20,000 Impact Award for her Data Entry Academy, which advances digital literacy across Africa. Godwin Benson of Tuteria secured $20,000 as the Pitch Competition Winner for his innovative tutoring platform connecting students—including those with special learning needs—to expert tutors. The $10,000 Exemplary Cascador Award was presented to Oluwaseyi Adefemi of Drive45 Mobility for his leadership and subscription-based vehicle ownership model.
Looking ahead, Cascador is strengthening its long-term support for alumni. “Through additional funding, we will provide substantial capital, ongoing education, and mentorship,” said Amanda Etuk, Cascador’s Programme Director. New initiatives will include annual loans and investment opportunities to help founders scale their businesses.
