Maroc Telecom and Inwi have joined forces to accelerate Morocco’s fibre optic and 5G rollout. The two telecom giants have signed a partnership deal to expand connectivity across the country, establishing two joint ventures—FiberCo and TowerCo—to lead the effort.

FiberCo will focus on expanding fibre networks, with a goal of reaching 1 million connections within two years and 3 million within five. Meanwhile, TowerCo will oversee the construction of 2,000 new telecom towers in the next three years and 6,000 over the next decade to support Morocco’s growing 5G network.

The first phase of the project is expected to cost AED 4.4 billion over three years, pending regulatory approval. If approved, it will significantly enhance Morocco’s digital infrastructure, improving internet access and mobile connectivity nationwide.

Jassem Alzaabi, Chairman at e&, described the agreement as a key step toward stabilizing Morocco’s telecom market and making it a more attractive destination for investment. He also praised the government’s efforts to foster a fair and competitive environment for telecom growth.

e&’s Group CEO, Hatem Dowidar, emphasized that the deal marks a new chapter in Morocco’s digital transformation, with better infrastructure set to enhance e-government services, business innovation, and overall economic competitiveness.

Maroc Telecom and Inwi are fully committed to the initiative, aligning with Morocco’s broader strategy to deliver faster, more reliable internet services to businesses and consumers alike.
