Kuadra has raised fresh funding from Cairo-based Edafa Venture as it looks to bring artificial intelligence into one of the construction industry’s most paperwork-heavy processes.
The undisclosed investment will fund the commercial launch of Kuadra’s AI platform, which is designed to help contractors automate procurement, analyse tender documents and manage projects more efficiently. The raise comes as construction firms increasingly adopt AI to improve productivity, reduce costs and speed up decision-making.
Founded in 2025, Kuadra is tackling a problem that has long slowed the construction industry: the manual review of tender documents, technical specifications and procurement records. These processes often require engineering teams to spend days or even weeks sorting through hundreds of pages of documentation before projects can move forward.
Kuadra’s platform uses AI to automate much of that work. Contractors can upload tender documents, extract technical specifications, assign work packages to suppliers and subcontractors, and evaluate bids from a single platform. Rather than reviewing documents line by line, users receive structured summaries highlighting key requirements, materials, dimensions, approved brands and countries of origin within hours.
Chief Executive Ahmed Salem said the platform is designed to eliminate repetitive administrative work, allowing engineers to focus on technical decision-making and project delivery instead of paperwork. He added that the goal is not to replace engineers but to make them more productive by embedding their expertise into AI-powered workflows.
The startup began operations this year and is already looking beyond construction. It plans to adapt the platform for the oil and gas industry, where procurement, technical documentation and supply chain management follow similar workflows and present many of the same efficiency challenges.
Kuadra is also in advanced talks with one of Egypt’s five largest construction companies over a strategic partnership that could significantly accelerate adoption of its platform, although the company has yet to disclose the prospective partner.
Beyond providing capital, Edafa Venture will work with Kuadra on product development, commercial strategy and business expansion as the startup scales its operations following its participation at GITEX.
The investment comes at a time when AI adoption is gathering pace across Egypt’s industrial economy. Earlier this month, El Sewedy Electric reported an average 84% reduction in process times across 30 AI projects developed with IBM, covering manufacturing, legal, human resources and customer service. Meanwhile, Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources is exploring a joint venture with UAE-based AIQ to develop AI solutions for the petroleum sector.
Alongside its software platform, Kuadra is investing in AI education by offering training programmes for engineering firms and industry professionals, helping businesses build the skills needed to integrate artificial intelligence into everyday operations.
As digital transformation accelerates across the construction sector, Kuadra is betting that AI will become a core part of how projects are planned, procured and delivered. With fresh funding and growing interest from major contractors, the startup is positioning itself to become a key player in the industry’s shift towards smarter, data-driven construction management.
